It's no question that I'm a sucker for a good floral crown, but I know as much as the next person that they aren't always the most practical accessory. For the summer I wanted to create a floral piece that I could wear on the more casual days with a more subtle, simple approach. Supplies: faux flowers, jewelry or floral wire, elastic headband.
Pantry Supplies: Scissors
1.// Choosing the right flowers is the most important part of this project. I chose something that made a statement but still small enough to blend in with any outfit or occasion. 2.// Begin the project by cutting off the flowers with three-five inches of stem left. 3. // Next, twist them together in a long strip, attaching them together with the wire. I made mine about ten inches long, but you should make yours according to your crown size and how many flowers you'd like to have showing. Secure both the base of the flower and the end of the flower so that there are no loose ends. 4.// Once you've connected the flowers, attach it to the hair band with either wire or needle and thread.
I've worn mine with my hair down, covering the bottom of the hair band. Next time I plan on styling it the same as I would with it down, but then pulling back all my hair into a low, messy bun.
If you decide to tackle this project, please leave a link, I'd love to see all the different combinations!
